  • Standard Header Tank Cleaning - Help

Has anyone got any sucessful methods on how to clean a standard header tank?

Had mine filled with Cilit Bang for the last 2 days but it still has changed it.

    Anyone got any tips?

Aren't they still quite/relatively cheap to buy new?
If not, high temp in the dishwasher?
If the outside skin of the tank is the problem, I remember the mk1/2escort concours boys back in the day using lighter fluid to clean the plastic, seemed to work from what I heard.

Spray the inside with cilit bang then put in the dishwasher on a high heat wash. Or buy a new one for £65 as once discoloured they will never clean up the same

I brought one a couple of months ago from automotive unlimited. 60 quid it cost.

Thing is where that is spotless it sticks out like a sore thumb in the engine bay as the other bottles are discoloured.
