  • Cosworth problem. HEELLLPPPPP.

Right so on my way home from fordfair in the escort it started playing up, at first it was coughing and spluttering at high boost, as the journey went on it was happening earlier and earlier to the point it was happening as soon as it was coming on boost. Now just to see what happened I turned the ignition off and on and it cleared the problem for a few miles but it slowly crept back in. I'm thinking maybe a problem with the ecu?? Because of the reset from turning it off and on. Any help would be great full.

A wiring problem wouldn't clear with turning the ignition off I don't think but it's worth a look

Could be plugs. As they are getting hotter they start to break down.

        You on Coilpack or Dizzy?

Dizzy atm mate, checked plugs and leads and also fitted new cap and arm, the thing that's baffling me is the ignition on off sorts it out for a while, I am going to try my spare 3 bar map sensor next see if it sorts it.
