        They do rot out badly and people still want to pay rot box money for well kept examples shiney paint work & clean interior never tells you the whole truth until you get underneath.

          I had an evo 8 which when only a couple of years old had started to rust underneath already, they are really not made for our climate. All evos are imports so is left to the dealer to get them undersealed etc underneath and many just wernt done properly or at all

            very common, 7/8/9 are sills and arches and chassis legs

            4/5/6 fromt floors, sills, chassis legs boot floor

                  Everyone always think cossies are bad I've seen some very rusted up evos, David maybe that quarter was changed?

                    yes Japanese cars rust more then cossys, not only evo, but also Subaru, nissan, Mazda, Toyota+++ rot like hell...

                            They do need to be properly undersealed but sadly this is never done correctly,
                            I did mine as soon as I got it new 15years ago but then I hatched a plan and left it in a dry garage for 10years untouched with no engine, Its turning in to a barn find.
