.........Or MSD (Blackpool) for dyno mapping + final checking on the road.

yeh, it happens, believe me.. Most tuners have a "preferred" route..

Msd maps are very good for the old weber. They always look like the mapper put some effort in to it.

That's not what I have seen but I don't find the Weber Ecu that great but the fueling on there chips have been good.

Would a track car be mapped any different to a road car or is it a case of the map is either right or wrong regardless ?

It's all a bit of a dark art to me

There is a wide window on mapping so it's more of a opinion rather than fact.

Doesn't sound like you ever "came here" at all?

We get very good results from our off the shelf calibrations when someone who knows what they are doing sets the cars up and lets us know the results, then if any changes are needed we are more than happy to make them FOC.

Did you ever let us know the calibration didnt suit your engine so we could try and sort it?
                      Regards James.

As Mark said its down to the Mapper really, but we generally scale the breakpoints a little differently on a pure track car, as drivability is not quite so important.

                          morning all,

need to keep this thread constructive please, as it has been so far - we all have our tuners of choice etc.

If the thread turns into a Pf style slanging match, then it'll be deleted.
