plates when on retention

does anyone know if you can have number plates made when you have a retention certificate for it?

all i want to do is get the plates made now, but obviously i dont have the relevant MOT, Ins Cert or V5 for that plate, which sems to now be the requirement just to have plates made.

i know i can get them thru several other guys online, but im trying to be greedy and get them made and in my hands asap

or dont you know any people in the trade ???

you wont be able to get them from a "normal " shop without the stamped paper the dvla give you,i get mine from fancyplates in ireland,they dont need any id stuff over there

Kelv mate - this is what I need to do... got the retention doc but no plates and havent sorted it as yet with my local dvla office, but I can get plates made..from a garage that does all my mots etc no worries if you want me to get you yours pm me the reg and I can do it for you...

kelv is it a plate you have owned for a while?

im sure the retention certificate is proof of ownership and it can be done by that with your licence
