as aboce, Autronic is quite old now really, lots of newer alternatives out there. i don't know what its like for availability on mappers down under but i'd be trying to source a mapper first and go from there

Not too many mappers know cosworths around me. The ones that are here have quite a few different ECU,s
It will be on a track car only.

Emtron, I like Autronic but it is getting old now with no updates but still a very good unit,
Motec is a good Ecu but I dislike the selling of upgrades that are already in the Ecu,
            Emtron has it all.

Motec before Autronic. Don't know much about Emtron, other than their website is skiny on tech info.
              Cheers

As mark said motec really take the piss adding on features that are already in ecu (££) and no knock control unless purchasing a seperate module (again £££)

I am UK distributor for Emtron and the KV8 is £2095+vat, We have a smaller version due soon for a 4cyl called the SL4 and this will be £1595+vat, Both have unmade looms and sensors inc that package.

You will find that the Motec M1 series now has all the addons hardware built in, but I bet its even more expensive than the M800...
I have a motec M800 and am about to go to tune my YB on it later this year... in Brisbane Australia
I have found a few folks that know them.
The purchase of the ecu is just the start... motec guys seem to prefer the std Motec sensors.... so you get the line, well if you use magneti-marelli 3 bar map sensor I have to calibrate it,,, use a Delco and its supported...
So add that into your review...

What i am really looking for is an ECU that can run the cosworth engine in a track car scenario, i have some ECU,s here the road COSSY is standard P8 with a 330bhp upgrade.
I also have some chips for a P8 up to 380bhp. I have also got a programmable P8 from IAW this i bought for the road car, to better manage it via a computer program and i have an ECU L8 or L6 don't know which one, or if it works that came with the engine. I was thinking of using one or other of these ECU,s to start and run the car when the engine is fitted and then change to an upgraded ECU that can be mapped properly by a mapper here in WA.

Use the Emtron and it is local to you.
