  • Who is wet wash and who is waterless wash then???

    Evening all

As April dawns ever nearer and the car comes back out I just wondered how many of you guys wet wash the car and how many of you are waterless?

There are pros and cons to both but I cannot honestly remember the last time my car was washed using a hose pipe or a pressure washer.

There are so many really good waterless wash products out there that I'm sold on them, as long as the right cloths are used then paintwork remains to a high standard and I'm only cleaning dust off anyway

    So who does what then????????

    Mart

Autoglym rapid detailer and a good quality microfibre cloth for me. Never gets that dirty in the first place tho. If i was caught out in the rain I'd probably give it a hose down and some bubbles.

I don't really waterwash it coming up to winter as it's been dry through the summer but may give it a wash when the warm weather is here, I shell be getting it out next mouth but has had a cover on so may use some dry wash stuff and give that a try

I hated washing mine mart , but sadly had to as I always seemed to get caught out in the rain, tbh I'd never wash a car with a pressure washer so just used to ( still do with the focus ) just hose wash it , regarding the shows , it depends how shity it gets really but always take a 25ltr tub of warm water in the boot then chamois it dry & fast detail spray

Maybe it's on OCD thing but can't see waterless cleaning it as well as I'd like mate ,

hose pipe for me, I'd be scared of rubbing the dirt in with the waterless products

Always used a hose pipe to start any cleaning exercise. I do have some waterless product and they're good but these go on after the car has been water-washed and dried...along with the ultra deep shine and HD wax etc etc. I do this because I share Ben's concern about rubbing dirt around.

Water goes nowhere near mine either but then it doesn't get used in poor conditions so is only ever dusty.

Depends how dirty, haven't used water on my cars for probably 15 odd yrs, but they dont get dirty, on the other hand i have a pressure washer for my van which i wash regular, dont see how you'd get away with not washing something that's used in all weathers, or that has got wet.

                      Wet wash always!

How do you find the paint on the cosworth?

Current Porsche has paint soft as butter, whereas the previous Maserati came up like glass.

Not washed the escort yet, still tucked up for winter.

Tried it and really didn't rate it over other QD's out there

I must buck the trend, mine gets washed with a hose almost every other day. No rust on it though.

Some interesting replies then, the reason I asked was that mark ( cab2cos ) showed a pic of his car covered completely in snow foam, and I instantly shuddered at the thought of that and the water getting into ever nook and cranny and sitting in the side skirts etc etc potentially causing God knows what.

Andy: I refuse to believe the concourse bufty that you have now become would £4 wash the monte
