KN Airbox

Chaps,

Anyone have any experience of the KN airbox? Currently have a "cone" fitted but wondered if this might tidy up the engine bay a bit.

I actually quite like that, although it does make you wonder if they're making these then they think the fully open cone filters have some issues with letting hot air through, which is probably true actually.

yeah it's a known issue that some cones can get heat soak - a good example is the 2.0 engine in the clio 172/182 - that has a really well designed airbox, fitting a cone filter without adequate cold air feeds will reduce power.

My car came with an open filter element as well. At some point I plan on building a heat sheild to somewhat separate it from the engine bay. There is already some ducting that routes fresh air from the front of the car to the underside of the filter.

That box looks like a pretty slick setup though.

I thought it looked quite nice, going to make some calls and see if it'll fit.
