Tricky I reckon - you could quite easily talk yourself / be talked into front, back and both sides being done

Just wanted something different, and this is certainly different from the standard look. The car is back to bare shell, I have gotten hold of a full WRC front end, Magnesium rear beam and sequential box. Plus with all the new panels it should be something good by the time Im finished next year.

If it was me I would probably just get the car re painted by the time you sorted all the bits?

Id want the rear spoilers off first, see what's hidden under it, also the side skirts and arch liners off so a proper look at those areas can be had also, but if its not rotting behind those areas id be having the complete front end, side skirts, rear bumper and bare tailgate painted.

As above, remove all plastics to see what base you have then decide from there.

It looks to me like the tailgate may have been painted previously as the finish looks different on it. I would say it is far better to have the whole front end painted and maybe look at getting a new tailgate as the it is probably worse under the spoiler!

In my opinion it is far better to have a clean car that has been painted than an original car that has rust bubbles.

That will be bad under the spoiler - they rub badly there through the paint causing the rust as water can get trapped in there, I'd recommend getting some clear decent vinyl and run that along where the spoiler touches the tailgate (you won't see it when the spoiled is back fitted), that way when done it won't rub through. Also ensure that the small drain channels aren't blocked.

When you get those wings painted make sure that they treat and rectify behind the lip as that will have crept behind it where the splash panel meets.

Ok, thanks for your comments, will get the rear spoilers off and get some more pictures up, I was under the impression that the car hasn't had any paint but I guess I could be wrong!! I have got a brand new genuine ford tailgate should I need this and it's the genuine one for the upper and lower spoilers!!!
