How much would you say it would cost for a full car respray not a quick blow over but to a high standard, it's one of them things i know places neer me but don't think I would want to go there for a full car

My full hit cost £3500. And it's ready for more paint due to stone chips

I charge 3k-4k for a full VW classic camper to bare metal but I would have done all the body panel work and welding on a separate job invoice. If there is a lot of rot hidden then the cost goes up quite a lot.
I know its not a cosworth but to do a full T2 body resto and 2k paint job a customer should budget for 7k and on average 270 log sheet hours of work.
how that translates to a Cosworh I don't know but a good job will not be cheap.
What I do know for a fact, if I did the job the more a customer takes off the vehicle then the time spent on the vehicle considerably drops. Having a bare shell to start with is a God send and better still if you can hand the fully painted shell back to the customer still bare. Fitting screens , glass and door internals back etc takes ages and runs a risk. I'm a fussy twat and only ever restore a fully stripped camper with the exception of axles and wheels so I can collect and deliver it by trailer.

The car was restored in 2008 so there should be no rot as that was all done it's just the paint finish is not as good as I would like and need some bits doing, like the edges on the top of the door and boot under the rear wing small things like that

Neil who does my painting wont cost knowhere near the quotes above, very max i would say £3k and thats IF it needs a lot of work, cheaper if not.

Only thing is that he is near me in Liverpool however its only a few hours drive.

Annoying that isn't it mine had a full paint when I got it then had a play with an Audi r8 that stone chipped mine.

It depends what is found underneath when they take it apart.

But I would budget for up to 5k if you are going baremetal.

Is it best to go baremetal?? What's the advantages of doing that??

IMO only if the shell is particularly bad. For light repairs or just a fresh coat of paint then no, there is no way an independent spray shop can apply the same corrosion preventative paint coats that Ford has used. To apply the same degree of protection will be very expensive and time consuming.
Most of the campers I restore for customers are bare metal resprays but mainly due to the fact that most don't have much original metal left on the camper

It is "best" as it would rid the bodywork of any imperfection hiding way beneath the surface upwards.

But it would be considered overkill in a lot of cases as to shape up a body firm bare metal would take weeks and weeks of work before getting anywhere near final prep and paint.
