  • Refitting stub axles into hubs

    Did anyone else have issues getting the stub axles back into the hubs when rebuilding the rear end, mine will go in 3/4 of the way and then get really, really stiff and wont go in anymore
    I haven't fitted the driveshafts yet -as still need to fit the springs- so there isn't anything to really get a purchase on to get them to go together.
    ie with a big hammer
    I assume when the driveshafts are on we should be just be able to tighten the hub nut and it will pull it all together

    Any idea's

      I pulled my stub axles in with the nut. All seems ok.

        i normally put the driveshaft in first [fully assembled] as its easier to put together off the car,then fit the rear bearing carriers/hub and tighten up,like you say once you get them fitted you will have something to tighten against

          They are very tight Mat, as said above just pull it in with the nut

              wel i build the outer stubs up the use the nut to pull the splined part in then put the shafts in last then connect lower shocker bolts after the springs are put in
