Yes as far as i can tell its a kit from MK or second hand and then it will bolt in, with the kit you can always go back to standard as well. I am looking at making a kit for mine as it is only going to be a track car, so in reality it can almost be bolted straight to the car body.

As above, however if your car is going to be over 450bhp then I advise that you also buy the diff cover from Mark. If you look at my previous threads, you will understand why. But MK now do the kit for a price including the cover. But if you only plan to have lower than 450bhp then you will be fine with the original kit, as seen on my car in the past.

I'm only going stage 3 but I'll more than likely get the cover as well lol

I'm on the search for a diff, gutted as someone has one 30 mins away for 150 but it's a 4.1

                  CAUTION!!!

As said before, never go by chassis number. You might be lucky, but most MK3's have had various diffs swapped over the year, because most can run or have run on any ratio diff. You're better off explaining to them how to check the ratio by rotating the flanges. Very easy and will only take a couple of minutes.

good news. i stood the diff on the prop flange pulled off the rear cover and counted the teeth on the crown wheel to find out my ratio for sure. if you are going to change the rear cover plate no time effort lost.

the pinion wheel should be stamped with the ratio on it, gonna be a while before its fitted, got to try and find a wheel to test fit first then drop beam for powdercoating

My diff has just turned up

Took cover off and on the pinion wheel its stamped 39 which is a good sign so counted the prop turns over 10 wheel rotations which gave me 39 meaning it's a 3.9-1 ratio

                              Bargain
