So with the real good stuff around 50 grand and tidy well cared for sensible miles stuff half that, what would you rather have instead if a mk5 escort cut and shut with a old Sierra?

50 grand buys one nice 997 or a Aston,a okish Ferrari or a decent 3bedroom semi in Liverpool

There was a time when a CSL would have been the one for me but once again I missed the boat as they've now passed into the loony tunes zone of prices so even if I could afford one, which I can't, then its value would weigh too much on my mind to enjoy it as one should

So what else ? Have often thought about 997 Carrera 2 & 4 S's but the known issues with the Gen 1's would play on my mind and I don't know that my Escort would sell for enough to stretch to a Gen 2
Plus, would I be standing in the queue to pay for fuel looking out the window at my car on the forecourt thinking 'yeah, that's the bollox' like i do with the Cossie or would it be 'oh, just another 911' lol

So what's left ? Always had a bit of a soft spot for the TVR T350 though ideally would want one that's had an engine build !!......or a Clio RS200 and pocket the change and have fun driving around without that horrible paranoia of damaging an expensive and special car ! Appealing

there`s no alternative for me... for me the cossies is not a everydaycar anyway, so compare them to some modern plastic Electric shit, is not for me... but if I should have a daily funcar around that price, newer sti or evo would be high up... Audi rs4 I have tried, and thats for sure a car I would never get... most disapointing car ever...

Range Rover sport, a nice 2010 command shift or later model but not a new shape one.

Or a completely standard frozen white FRS MK2.

I'd love a red evo 6 tommi mak, even thought about selling the escort for one but even them are on the up now. I wouldn't say no to an s2000 as a daily if it were practical but I couldn't fit my downhill bike in the boot!

When I bought my new daily a couple weeks back they had a mint TME and a Lotus Carlton for sale and loved both of them,
If I was to sell my 3 door it would be a Noble for me.
