  • Carcoon advice

I know quiet a few on here use them and was lookin for some opinions
I've always kept my frs in a Carcoon but might struggle to fit a second one for the 3 door into the garage which got me to thinking are they really worth it,
My garage is part of the house and fully lined and insulated with a sealed and insulated door, absolutely no damp and even in winter sits at around 10degrees,
Dilemma is do I buy another or am I safe enough with this environment and sell up and buy a fitted cover for the 3 door instead.

In your situation I would buy a fitted cover, job jobbed, carcoons can take up a huge amount of space

I'm in the same predicament, integral dry garage and I got a carcoon veloce which is an awesome piece of kit and the S1 fits inside it perfectly, however due to it being a drive in, drive out version its wider than the normal ones so that means the cosworth is a ridiculously tight fit against it and you have no space to walk around. For the summer months I kept them both under fitted covers but now the shows have just about finished and the damp winter months are coming I don't know whether to leave them under cover with space around or put them back in carcoons.....

        I'm exactly the same Paul,
Issue is space really as garage is only 6mx5m but door opening is only 4m, makes it more awkward to get the cars into Carcoon,
May just sell the outdoor cover and get the 3 door a nice indoor cover

Ive stored cars with and without them, if your garage is as good as it sounds you'll be fine, personally I dont like covering cars, and don't see the point unless its a very dusty environment.

Try using a dehumidifier with a built in humidistat, set it at about 50-55%, so if it gets damp it will control the area, a good one is very effective and they are surprisingly cheap to run.

I used my outdoor carcoon whilst I built a garage, which worked brilliantly, but didn't use either my cairoport or carcoon Last winter, just the dehumidifier with no worries at all, kept them just as nice.
