Panel Air filters - whats the best

Whats the best panel filter for a standard air box? Standard car?

I was looking at the long life K&N and Pipercross, the Pipercross being a bit cheaper.

Any thoughts?

I've got a K&N panel filter in mine and it's been no problem at all. Couldn't say how much more beneficial it is over a standard filter but periodic cleaning with an airline and it's always been good.

Had K&N and Pipercross induction kits on other Escorts and personal preference was for K&N.

I've got a 57i on at the moment, but going back to a standard set up and wanted a long life filter.

I'll check out the k&n
