  • Transit Custon or VW Transporter?

We're going to get a new small van.

For me it's one of the 2 above, no French shite or vauxhalls.

Out of the 2 what would you go for? Anyone got experience of the 2? Cheers

(And yes I want the Msport Tranny but can't see that happening)

Transporters hold their money better, can be easily tuned and loads of bolt on goodies

I had a transit sport and 3 months after warranty expired so did the engine, long fight with ford and they finally sorted it. It only had 39000 and full history

Got a t5 sport line for work and it's brilliant 8 years old now and compare a 57 plate transit to a Vw

Always had transits, got a lwb ltd connect now, and its unreal for a van I have to say, more gadgets than all our cars put together, a mate has a blue transit custom also and its brilliant, theyve really thought these new ones out nicely.

The van will be left factory as it will be sign written. Needs hi viz back end as will also be used as an escort vehicle for the wide loads that we do with the Arctic.

I'm swaying to the custom. Top spec 155bhp model. There's some LWB models with 18's that look awesome

I've got the transit and it's a drivers van and doesn't rattle like every t5 I've driven but as said they got there faults as all vans have id be buying the ford they good work horses just don't chip them and it'll be fine the t5 I think there are a lot of however the sport line is a nice bit of kit but for the price of one you could but a msport custom

That's the same transit custom as I was going to buy, couldn't bring myself to though as its far to much money for me to only use it for motocross bikes and track days! that company will "build" you a van to any spec you want. I liked the LWB version because you have better towing capability, with the SWB custom that I have my towing limits are really low. I have to be careful incase I get stopped with the car on the back. Might get into bother but not so far, its very close to its limit...... I love mine, would sell the C63 before I sell my van! kids love it too, we use it for everything. As said the transporter cost a pretty penny.....

I think i've settled for a custom, only thing is, it has to be white. We'll see if the gaffer allows a LWB one like the blue one, but white.
