I can't work the pic out. Doesn't the thermostat housing look the wrong way up or is it me?
    Cheers

      yes housing is wrong...

I've had a few cosies where this pipe is just floating around, definitely not how ford intended.

yes agreed there should be lump there to bolt to if everything was the way ford intended.

although in pic thats a 2wd head not an early 4x4 one.

I've had a different pipe to that on a couple of my cars in the past that doesn't have such a bent and people have put going up above the turbo. i think the pipe may be wrong? we need one of the experts to chime in and help you out.

Thanks for the comments guys, yes i forgot to say the thermostat end housing was fitted like that when i bought it, i need to turn it, im sure it is a 4x4 head though as it hasn't got turbo brace lugs and the water ways look correct, i'll put a pic up of the underneath now

I'll have to make a bracket for it,
im guessing it is a saph 4x4 head as mine is a BT is there any other problems im going to come across? i hope not

if you use the lifting eye on the rear of the head, hang a bracket off that one and secure it from the rear end.
