  • Car sos letdown

Living in Walsall, i thought i would get a quote for my Refurb from Westgate Classics in Aldridge, as they are about 10 miles away and the team that do car SOS on discovery, and they do some nice work, made an appointment with them to come and look at the car today, i waited in all day, it got to 4 O'clock so i call them, they told me the guy had set off and would be 10 mins, he never landed. What a way to deal with a potential customer, some companies don't deserve the business. I will be onto them in the morning to see what excuse they are going to make up.

Darren use someone well known in the cosworth scene for the car.
In my opinion you need someone that knows these cars inside and out.
They need to come apart and then go back together without breaking things as a lot of clips/ parts are not obtainable new now.
Maybe put a post up with what work you require and see who can help, that way you know you will get a top job first time and they will know all the possible issues etc.

Sometimes it's cheaper if they know the car as less time faffing about with labour trying to take it apart.
My car went from a basket case needing full paint and wires hanging out all over the place/ no hoses, inlet etc to having an mot in about a month.

For 24 year old car its not too bad, but I've used it hard over the years, front wheel arch lips are showing signs of rust as are the bottom of the doors not bad but its there, its got a few scrapes and scratches over it, needs a good paint job and underneath will probably need looking at, powder coating etc. I'm not into putting it on stands with a mirror underneath but would like it to look nice and be solid, just think it deserves it now, Ive hardly spent anything on it in 20 years of ownership, Just a GGR power conversion & GGR exhaust, plus some poly bushes, but thats it in 20 years.

Yes Darren full paint and the turret/ inner wing area of the engine bay as it had gone abit flat over the years and the seam sealer was showing through where parts had rubbed.

Can anyone recommend a fabricator to do a partial Rear Chassis Leg replacement on my Saph.
As near to Warrington as possible !
I have a new chassis leg section, but want a spot in job that will last a long time and not give underlying rust in 3 yrs.

I have stripped the back end of he car and cleaning off all the under seal at present.
                          Cheers
