  • Hydraulic clutch conversion

Can anyone who runs a hydro clutch with master and a slave give me some feedback please?

I'm looking to do the hydro conversion with the slave on the gearbox and I'm getting mixed reviews.

I've sat in a couple and worked the pedal and it feels like it has a 'step' at around 60% travel then goes hard

    Thanks in advance

I can't give you specific advise but I can tell you that the two that I've driven don't have a step or any stiff points

        Thanks for the replies

I sat in an Escort and a 4wd saff and they both had this 'step' in the pedal as if it were nice until it took up the slack then went firm

Difficult to describe on here but the pedal was not consistent throughout the pedal travel.

I only need the master cylinder and I can fit the lot but I'm worried I'll spoil the car

Likewise mine's been a great mod. Gives a really light pedal on an uprated ap cover. Definitely no step in how it feels.

Thinking about getting this mod as well next month. Is everyone running the Reyland conversion?

Will any decent specialist be able to fit and set up?

              Thanks all

I only need the master cylinder and a couple of fittings and I'm good to go.

I'll be changing to an AP organic formula clutch at the same time, I'll probably wait until after the summer as I'd like to use it

Mine is smooth on the pedal all the way fella, brilliant conversion, I have the uprated AP cover and was using organic then now paddle, no issues at all, who's kit or who carried out the coversion on the ones you tried ?

Was the conversion you tried the centre bearing push or the fork arm control one?

Also any one here done one on a T5 not using Reyland equipment?

                      Cheers

The conversions I tried were done by both owners

They were both master and slave on the box with remote reservoir

Is it a fairly straightforward fitment for a specialist garage?

Does anyone have any opinion on the best quality kits?

                          Thanks

It's straight forward for anyone with a basic knowledge of cars, so long as you have access to the correct tools. Most important being the die to cut a hole in the bulkhead

As for parts, you can buy your own branded bits from where you like and make your own, will work out cheaper as well
