  • Sierra gearbox

Hello all, I have an escort cosworth and a 4x4 Sierra cosworth are the gearboxes the same? Reason I ask is I want to refurned one and it would be easier to strip the Sierra and use that, car is a donor for another project you see.

On another note my escort has around 400 bhp and the clutch slips in 4th and 5th I am looking for a nice clutch that can handle the power and feel as good as a standard unit, what are people using?

    Thanks, Carl

So the gearbox themselves are the same just the doughnuts, can these be swopped over? Like I said, my plans are to remove the box from the Sierra and refurbish it, that was the escort is not off the road and I can swop it as and when, seems the easiest plan

      Thanks for the reply.

no the output flange is different its longer on the later gearbox, its very easy to swap over or you can use the opposite dougnut and front part of the rear prop

          shorter

          longer
