  • Help - Radiator fan switch - bypass ??

Guys - my radiator fans arent cutting in and I'm driving in the Cosworth in France at the moment.
Any idea how to by-pass the radiator 'switch' ... ?
I can see 2 connections below the passenger side of the radiator, and have disconnected, cleaned and reconnected these, plus checked the fuses....the fans still arent cutting in???

Any help would be great. 👍🏻👍🏻😃😃

The switch and/or relay are possibly faulty, the fan switch is normally an open circuit, have you tried connecting the 2 wires from the fan switch together to see if they kick in.
The simplest temporary fix is to simply wire in a manual override switch connected to the 2 wires on the fan switch.

the escort has a 2 stage fan switch you can see in the link. try to bridge 2 contacts...i donīt know which ones are for stage 1 and 2 but you canīt do something wrong the switch is on ground on both sides when active!

if thatīs not helping you have to check the radiator relay that is behind the battery. also check the fuse it should be at the battery too i guess.

Fan relays are located behind the battery.

I had the same problem, it wasn't the fan switch or the relay. Found a splice in the harness by the battery had corroded and no continuity through it, you could try bypassing the fan switch or putting a wire jumper across the relay but this wouldn't have helped on mine. Ended up making a new fan harness with 2 new relays in the end. The rad switch switches the neutral side of the relay so don't be scared to short it out to test it.
