  • 7064 manifold to close to alternator

    Hi chaps

    Just finishing off my engine and hit slight problem the manifold is to close to my alternator. Mark shead design manifold

    I'm using the 2wd set up what's the best solution I was thinking of ask anembro if thay could mod one of there brackets to drop the alternator approx 20mm

    Give Greg a shout @ anembo would be a problem

      Need a new bracket of elongate the holes to drop it down further, best solution is to convert to the later type escort belt with the spring tensioner, can then pull the alternator away from the manifold and hold in place with a bracket.

        Use a dropper bracket same as Rs500.

          Using a standard drop bracket with the original 2wd alternator set up is not enough,the manifold touches the alternator.

            I have done it so I know it works this is why I recommend doing it.

                Hopefully sorted order a bracket from Greg that should drop the alternator by approx 40mm

                        It didnt work on mine thats for sure, but i have the larger primaries manifold so maybe thats why.

                            I think a lot if people are missing half the issue here, belts need to be long enough to allow the alternator to pivot away from exhaust manifold.
                            If belts are short ones you will still be close even with drop brackets.

                              not sure of optimal length to get alt to the end of the adjustment bracket of hand.
