  • would i gain torque to my engine by fiting a bd10 exhaust cam?

im just thinking ahead so i can get my engine exactly how i want it before i get it mapped.

at the mo my spec is

7:8:1cr, pocket pistons, long stud, wrc gasket.
28mm inlet port 23.5 exhaust port, volcan head
bd14 inlet cam standard exhaust cam. tt38 turbo
    rs500 cooler 60mm thick.
i'm running a 4x4 bt inlet plenum with 10mm spacer
    and a 4x4 exhaust manifold.

the power i want is a 450bhp 450lbft if possible??

the map is very poor at the mo way to rich!!! and it did 443bhp at exactly 2bar with a really small spike at a dyno shoot out day,

so i'm sure it will easly hit 450bhp if mapped right with a tad more boost which is fine..

but its currently 390lbft this is where i want to push an improvement!! as you know its 2wd which i love!!

i'm thinking with my spec go..

2wd exhaust manifold, 2wd down tube extended(less bends in it)
    bd10 exhaust cam

would i need to change my inlet manifold?
hope not as i had to let one go to get mine running..long story..

what do you guys think? i'm not keen on a gt30 as ive heard there none rebuild able..

my personal opinion would be to get the 2wd manifold on there and have it mapped properly.

i would then remove any thoughts in my brain about changing the exhaust cam to a BD10

As kelv says, get a 2wd manifold and have it set up and mapped properly..............OR 2wd manifold and T4 it for 500bhp

      check my salethread

      would be mental rwd.

I always read/heard it was better to use a BD10 Inlet cam and leave the standard exhaust cam in..

Surley more fuel and air gotta be a good thing. .
