gt30 turbos

i might upgrade to one of these turbos in the future but i like to look out for a bargin so i'm in no rush...

can someone advise me on these turbos i have no idea on what housings are good etc

what is the gt30 that does 400bhp to 550bhp? with the least lag, wennys car looked insane!! is he runing one?

well mine made 508 bhp and it has the smallest rear end (63) and is best for me as i wanted the best for road and not track but if you put the bigger rear end on it and have the engine to match then 550 bhp could be yours but it will have more lag than mine

508 is a good figure, isnt your a external wastegate? what power do they go to with just a internal 63housing?

how would that compare with a roller t38 or roller t4?

if i recal Duncans is external from the pictures he has popped up, and is a GT3076 with the .63 housing.

mine was a GT3076 with the slightly larger housing being a .82.


if you wanted to go for even less lag but not so worried about chasing power figures then you could go for a GT3071 which is mildly smaller but still plenty to see over 450bhp, CossieRich made just over that on his GT3071 and he loves it.

yes mine is external went for that just incase i ever want more power as for t38 didnt like it as it was a lazzy turbo good for power but it felt like it didnt have a turbo and more like a 6 Litre V 8 under the bonnet, roller t4 can give you more power but more lag and when i asked harvy about using one on my engine he told me that the roller t4 didnt come on boost hardly any sooner sooner than a normal one and wasnt worth having and so i went for the gt30/63 as that is what he said would be best for me and my engine

havent givern it any as yet as i need to get it back to scs just to make shure all is ok first but i can tell allready thats its much nicer to drive than the ,as for the best place to get one, phone around for the best price or look on the web, usa was good untill the pound went shit or hunt the adds for them as they do turn up
