No, this happened yesterday on the way to the Ring (so not even with any abuse - it was obviously an issue from the dyno failure). They made it to the hotel, but the car has to go back with the AA.

There was only me and my Mrs with the kids so I couldn't really take a trailer. I might consider taking it on a trailer next time!

Hammer it around a track before hand, if it survives that, it will survive the 'Ring. Unfortunately you can't always do that. On the two occasions mine has come back on a recovery truck, one has been due to not having enough development time after a major modification just prior to the trip (like Dave), and the other has been an unforeseeable crank failure.

Mine was corroded power steering pipes that I hadn't noticed, so it could of gone anytime anywhere! It was just fate it happened when Her Indoors was ragging it round the Ring!
