  • Daily runabout

took a couple of pics of my daily driver today:

spec is 172 Sport with all extras, yozasport clio cup race exhaust, recirculation removed, ported and matched inlet manifold, custom map with raised rev limit. It did 198bhp with a decat on, but i had to refit the cat as it was way too loud on the motorway so its around the 190 to 192 bhp mark at the moment. Only cosmetic mod is a carbon fibre front spoiler.

Goes like a rocket as they don't weigh much, handles ace and will out brake my Escort plus returns over 35mpg around town, and i've seen over 45mpg on a run - the last tank did 410 miles and it took £43 to refill it

I'm hunting for some of the later 182 cup wheels for it.

yeah that clio has been the same, it's never caused us any problems. I looked at type r's myself, but this has always been in our family. It's the second time i've owned it lol, my uncle bought it brand new, i then bought it off him for my girlfriend - it was 4 years old with only 21,000 miles on it. My girlfriend was pregnant with our first child, and the car was fine at first, but ended up being too small so i sold it to my brother (on about 28,000 miles by this point) 3 years ago and bought her a vectra My brother had it until last september when he put it for sale, and i bought it back lol with 39,000 miles on it for me to use for work and as a daily driver. now just on 45,000 miles. Also replaced the vectra with an A4 now

As good as these little cars are they fucking piss me off and they annoy me! Sorry mate! The reason being when I was 19 I had my first turbo car, a Nissan S13 200sx 1.8 turbo and it was 170bhp/169/lbft, I was on the way to work on a saturday morning and was having a tear up with one of these, I couldn't lose the fucker and at about 140mph my bottom end let go!

Got it rebuilt cheaply but properly from Dad and it was spot on, so no fault of the clio's but it upset me at the time!
