Cookies are what's created on your PC ot laptop once you've visited a page on the web, they hold certain info and just sit temporarily on your PC (or something close to that).

Spiders are sent out from search engine right across the web and track the popularity and frequency of use of sites etc, all the engine's use them, Google, MSN, Ask Jeeves ....

they are search engine worms, they come and go which basicly puts this site higher up on the search engines.

Its good if they are constantly coming back as it shows the site is setup well and has the right ingredients for them to funnel through.
