  • - Not Wan*! Car Was Fooked Again! NOW SORTED!

    Enjoyed Snetterton today!

(thanks for waking me up Mike - I was still half asleep!)

    However!!!

We got great fuel economy on the way home, no injectors or pumps working from when I fuelled up on the A11 so the AA used there fuel instead!

Looks like an ECU feed or alarm problem.

I spent an hour working on the car, then an hour and a half waiting for/being worked on by the AA and then three hours getting the car recovered and back home!

Car to be looked at properly tomorrow, hopefully.

I'm fookin gutted, kids tired and gutted, wife extremely gutted and pissed off!

had a similar prob on my car andrew when i took it to the uk,took off at the lights with abit of a jolt due to paddle clutch, got moving for a few secs then car died, turned over but noting,i wipped off the feed from the feul pipe in the bay and turned car on and no fuel so pump not coming on,thought maybe alarm or fault with the fusebox or ecu,not telling pump to start,.my suggestion ,take off ur rear bumper and the big black with red tracer wire coming out of boot of car goin to the tank bare back the wire and run a live from ur battery to it and the pump should start if it does then uve a fault with electrics,if it dont start which was what happened to mine ,the pump cud be fucked or in my case the jolt caused the wire on the pump in the tank to come loose from its crimp connection,

I had this exact problem recently - luckily I was at Enhanced Performace about to have a power run on their rolling road. My problem was no power to the pump - remove the trim panel in the passenger side footwell and at the bottom you'll see the fuel safety cutoff switch. Pull the connector off the bottom of that and you should have power on one of the pins when you initially switch the ignition on. Mine didn't - issue with fuel pump relay / fuseboard / wiring between them. Luke at Enhanced Performance ran a new feed using a relay triggered by the ECU - and all's been fine since.

Yep, normally fuel pump relay. Had same thing happen to me, got it recovered to an auto electrician, he traced the problem in two minutes, and had the car running again within 15 minutes (the longest time was taken up by him finding a replacement relay ) of it being taken off the recovery truck .

Cheers Nash. It was a bit dirty as it rained on most of the journey there, then looked too bleak in the morning to wash it!

Unfortunately the problem isn't the pump, relays or fuses and there is no live feed to the fuel cut off switch
The wiring is a bit bespoke to say the least after its rebuild and two pump set up. I have left it in the hands of professionals so fingers crossed!!

No mate. My local supercar specialist!

Got it back already, live ECU feed wire was too puny and had burnt out (I'm getting good at this - guess whats wrong this time! - If only I could fix it as easily!).
Happy days, princely sum of £45 to fix!

(Sorry Craig they didn't have time to swap the cooler and can't fit me in until the end of next week )
