Can they repair fag burns in seats? I burnt a hole in me Esc Cos cloth a few years back, which really fooked me off. Now I don't smoke and obviously want it repaired (Would prefer a leather/alcantara retrim, but haven't got cash for that at present )

For those that are interested. The leather in the Escort Cosworth is no longer stocked by Recaro. A local RSOC fanatic bought an Esc-Cos which had a rip in an immaculate back seat. He contacted Ford and then Recaro and could not buy the leather. Recaro told him they supplied the same leather to Ford for the Scorpio. A few months later he bought a rear bench from a low mileage (back seat never used) Scorpio 24v ghia and had the material remove and his repaired. I seriously cannot pick out the replaced seat panel, same colour, same hole diameter and spacing.

yeh i knew the leather was the same as a grandad scorpio,i used to have one reg h3eml.
had everything chucked on it inc electric rear seats and electric heated front ones.
when you reconnolise you can just do what needs doing if you colour match using swatches, or repair using the correct cut shape section and if a different shade is required then spray it.

i wouldn't reccommend wopping halfords satin black on your steering wheel and drivers chair as its not normal paint.

used the guy from leicester to restitch an exploded seat air bag when I done our Outlander its a very soft cream leather, and he also put a new pass seat panel in the same chair, as Mitzy wanted 2 grand odd for the complete chair.

He matched the leather with what he had around , which was slightly a harder leather, which has now got slight cracking in it, but we 've had the car on the road now 2 years .

As the softer the leather the more expensive it becomes...

but to be fair where they re stitched the seat back together after unpicking the original stitching you couldnt tell the seat had been apart, as they stitched back into the original holes...

Kish trim in sunderland near me have an awesome rep!! They do all of the footballers cars and do every one of David and Victoria Beckhams cars. He aint cheap though but you get what you pay for imo. I think depending on the quality of leather chosen it's anything from about £1800 upwards for a full retrim.

hey up fletch, don't see you here much

if i use my seats to repair the leather recaros i have my mint cloth hex recaro covers will be up for sale.
there is a bloke though i have a number for who has the original std lux cloth material on the roll,i'll find it if you want !!!

my mate has had some absolute tat smart repairs through his doors that he has had to put right doing a panel repair. he has bought out a smart seat repairer and can do it but he's a professional and see's it as bodging, give him the correct material and its as good as new and just as good as it left recaro.
this is funny but my mate does the ford main dealers seats and the van side too as van seats get hammer and retail dealers want nice clean seats,he used to do sunroofs and vynal roofs too for Quicks Ford as the lads there couldn't do it.
he told me he knew what material ford used on mark 2 escorts bitd so when my mate bought a mk2 escort 1 lady owner with a slightly tatty original we got it done as new
that car was in classic ford mag and you would never know it wasn't a original roof.

its great when you know someone who really does know their onions in the car game.

when i find a drivers door card and some tatty cloth recaros i'll do a before and after so you can see what the difference is like.
