  • Just took the escos out in the wet

    ................deliberately

I thought fuck it its the end of the show season and i missed going sideways in my 3dr.

I know you can the 4x4's out of shape in the dry but it requires a lot more commitment. Soooooo I thought bolloksk to it i am gonna take the escos out and get some 4 wheel drifts on the go.

I did my best to ignore all the spray making a mess of the engine bay and covering the car in crap

Found some quiet roads and gave it shot, scaninavian flick and abit of opposite lock and away you go

Its the only time i'll take the car out in the wet really and i am itching to go and clean the thing now But it was great fun

Also you know how you only see decent cars when you are in your run around or works car and think "I wish I was in the escos" Well I saw loads out today a p1 some evos, a driftworks 180sx and was able to have a play with them all if I was in the 3dr Id have to stick to just pootling along

I am not brave/skilled (daft!) enough to do in on a narrow road

It was a really wide bit of slightly cambered road on an industrial estate that goes for about 1/4 of a mile with only one entrance So i knew there was no traffic and also there was loads of run off

And because it was so wet it was all in slow motion at about 15 miles an hour or something daft, which is the reason I wanted to do it in the wet just to see how the car reacted but at a much slower speed.

Wont be doing it again but just wanted to find out the limits of the car really, when it was going to break away in the wet

yes, in the wet is a lot easier on the car and as you say, you don't need so much speed.

got to get used to the car sometime and i suggest you try and do a drift day etc... where its quite slippy and easy for the car to drift without a lot of effort.

good to have fun in the wet though.

          Dave.

Glad you are using the car properly & having fun.
I know what you mean - where do all the interesting cars go when out in the cosy? I always see interesting cars when I am driving something sh1t slow..... like works van.

I did this in mine in the snow, was great fun! and having all 4 wheels spinning and the sound everytime you lift of every second was lovely!

Looked good going up the road side ways as well spraying snow everywhere
