chassis numbers , where to find them

im off to look at an escort sunday , where are chassis numbers located please ??

Theyre underneath a plastic flap inside the car down the side of the drivers seat and it should also be visible on th passenger side of the dashboard through the front windscreen. it should start WFOB.

early big turbos do not have a vin number in the dash visible through the screen.

left hand drives have the floor number in the same place as a rhd so it's on the passenger side.

is right Gazza,i would not want some nob shiner knowing the reg and vin and colour etc and doing a scam ad,you could do a cracker of a ad if you hpi'd a car you got the number of owners,last keeper change and looked at the details of it like miles,trim,wheels,model etc.
if you did that looking at a car for sale and spied the log book details or mot number you can find out what the car has failed on and how many mo'ts its had.
all info like that helps a dodgy ad sound convincing.

part of my ch no is etched on all my original windows too

Aren't there anymore than those two places? Three with the fuse box one. I know the Supra has a crazy amount stamped in the chassie. Even "secret" places and a couple you have to use a mirror to read them paranoid!!!

as factory drivers side under flap engine/chass number etched in all windows aswell, vin tag and stamped on the colour tag both tags are under the bonnet on slam panel, allways have a good look at these areas especially under the flap on the drivers floor

(apparently) there are about 8 chassis numbers on escorts speedo inside the panel clocks wiring loom under the car at rear etc
