  • Rs500 vs. EsCos

    Hi Guys,

A mate of mine wants to sell his black RS500. I've always loved them, but don't know for sure what car I like the most. The EsCos or the RS500???

    What do you think

I'm thinking of selling my Wolf EsCos and buying the RS500

The quick spec from the RS500 : 400bhp, big brakes front and rear, Mongoose exhaust, 16"BBS split rims, and original Stereo

    Cheers

Drive it first. I looked at a 3dr when I had my Sapphire, and even by comparison to the Sapphire the 3dr felt like it was from another era, and the Escort makes the Sapphire feel like that, so an Escort to a RS500 would feel like going back to days of the ark .

I have come from the very 1st cossies made and to the very last....................no cars in between.

There is a huge difference, but to be fair the are both dated either way compared to what you could get for the cash. That being said you buy either of those cars because you REALLY wanted one not because one was better that the other.

I'd have the 500 and should have kept my 3dr instead of getting the escort, but thats personal
      preference.

3dr/rs500 does feel dated compared to an Escort but thats never bothered me tbh. Personal preference really as they are both great cars, just depends what floats your boat. Follow Mikes advice and test drive it before you make your mind up.

rwd is no big deal on the road, maybe on track but my 3dr would be much qiicker on the road compared to the escort..............it took me a while but you get used to knowing how to peddle them fast with no dramas.

I honestly think that the rs500 / 3 door is a much nicer car to drive and dont think they feel any older than the escoss

I sold my Mint escoss because to be honest i think there the worst driving cossie of them all
                        They just look awsome

500 all the way mate , and dont forget what a great investment they are

3dr's are definately the most rewarding of all to drive and as said, you do quickly learn how to drive them fast!
