  • Great Little Road Car !

I'm not a fan of Sapphire's and never have been really, but saying that i do find this quite appealing and i bet this would make a bloody great little road car

Certainly not cheap but it is something a bit away from the norm and got to be a safe bet arond the £10k mark i would have thought

Shame it's not a Brooklyn 2.4 but all the same i bet there is quite a bit more power there to be found if someone wanted it - though perfect for the road with very good torque as it is

What he said. IMO Sapphire's should only be 2wd for maximum fun

hang on a mo lads, that car if you know your 4dr cosworths is a famous old sierra,it was in loads of old ford magazines and iirc was constantly on the back of one for a insurance company.

tbh back when p+p had british rally champion mark lovell on board and power engineering was run by dave power their conversions were as good as anything broklyn did, thats not saying brooklyn were not great like

all you need is a mark lovell fan and that car is almost a bargain imo if still sharp

That car brings back memories, I remember seeing that in the car mags of old. As said that is a part of Fast Ford history.

I've still got the "TOP CAR" mag article with all the timings in. They put it back to back with their 2wd model. A few photos of Mark Lovell (RIP) driving it "spiritedly" as well .
They drove both cars across France on the test

              brilliant stuff

its not just me who remembers it then,i let the fella selling it know about Mark Lovell owning it or driving it and that makes it more special seeing as he was British Rally Champion and a famous Cosworth driver.

              edit

i think Dennis Foy did the car proud in Performance Ford back in say 91 after it was modified,i remember the bit about how fast it accelerated and thinking then woo !!

From what I am lead to believe, it is fine at this level, but the PE conversion uses a crank originally designed for N/A use, so they need to be torque limited to sub 400lb ft.

I also have all the Top Car mags that this car was featured in .

I've got pretty much every decent mag that did a Cosworth test back when they came out
