Gaz your looking at a fucking xpert at buying stuff in great condition and then things fucking up,a few days ago i bought a car for a considerable amount of money that had a clicky starter,no probs there i have a man who does my altys and startes dead cheep,it was pissing down so i get me mate's garage to whip the starter off and take it to get fixed,i go to collect the car done and the fookin management light comes on taking it back.
the diagnosis was pipes hanging off the turbo, split pipes and a fooked airflow meter,it drove mint like new going and flat as a fart comming back.
i have 101 more stories like that, its just not cricket when you try your best to sort cars out and you fall face first in the cat poo

tell me about it Karl mate ad drove there twice as 1st time a cud of smashed the car up on way home it was flat as my work van and thats a diesel ha, said they had trouble mapping it and findin a suitable chip as the car has had a lot of head porting, 2nd trip they told me wud take a few hours to sort out so i got ther for 9am in morning and finaly got away at 7 pm same night! car is spot on now once its started just a right pain to start wich is a shame as id spent a lot of money there.

all these were checked as car was serviced at same time before was mapped, crank sensor was renewd at the time.

i reckon unfortunately if you fiddle around you risk the people who last worked on your car not wanting to know,i'd say it has to go back so they can check themselves in the morning from cold what exactly its doing or you could end up pissing in the wind and changing stuff thats ok anyway.

Sounds like it's rich when cold then? What management are you running?

Some are buggers for cold starts, map dependant. They can't give and take!

Probably best phoning the bloke that mapped it and explain what it's doing, he might know why!

Who did the work, sounds odd that they would say something like that and not be able to get it running right
Maybe cut your losses and get it to one of the proven specialists

its on P8 managment and msd stage 5 chip, siemens injectors, modified idle valve etc, my 2nd trip ther was to write a more suitble chip and draw more fuel in and ignition on pick up for low revs but car endid up worse. car is great and goes well once its fired up but even wen its warmed up it wont start straight away it takes a few gud cranks before it piks up and fires then it revs slightly high then will idle fine. was alwas annoying but has become more so since it flatend battry earlier and endid up stuck at bottom of my drive.

surely this would have been done as part of the mapping? or do they just do half a job?

yer jim evrything was checked and anything needed was renewed before they wud map it, they said my car had been a pain to do but told me sum do go that way were others are straight forward to do without any problems- just my luck! they also said to bring it back if i wasnt happy, its a long drive for me but looks like it will need to go back at some point. maybe 3rd time lucky . . .

They should have done the job correct the first time I had a greys chip off them once and the car ran like a bag of shit although they did give a full refund

Dare you to put your post on PF mate
