  • does wheel spacers ruin the handling

whats your thoughts? as ive got 18 inch group a cosworth fitment (et30) wheel and have put hubcentric 25mm spacers on the front as wheels sit in to much.
just doesnt seam as responsive on the steering anymore...or is it me being paranoid?

i thought that Grp A fitment was et33.

25mm spacer is huge mate, if your calculating those wheels as et30, then they now sit as et5.
im not suprised the steering feels a bit sketchy now.
you will be suffering hugely on the scrub radius, which is from the centre line of what the wheels should be.

      15mm spacers would be better

arr, your probably right, this was what i was told, but with these 25mm spacers the wheels sit about right in the arch, so do you think i should just take the spacers off and just put up with it,
or do what j1mbo says and just use 15mm spacers,

id go with the 15mm spacers, and if i recall correctly hubcentric do a 16mm spacer.
so if the wheels are et33 you should end up with a nicely fitted wheel to the quivalent of et17

nice one kelv, forgot to say but the wheels are the revolutions if this helps, looks like i shoud invest in some smaller spacers.

which would be about right eh kelv

et15 is what most run with a 8" wide wheel, so within 1mm is dead on

pop a PM over to Chopper1981, he has the same wheels, possibly the similar offset and has used spacers.
his now fit perfectly, so im sure he wont mind sharing his knowledge of what sizes he used.

infact, ill link him to this so hopefully he will reply soon
