Dom, i get what you mean mate.
not just the breather but the tank you have would have come with a kit to breathe from the cam cover, this complete kit i reffer to as the cheaper way, but you have done spot on by doing it from either side of the block anyhow.

your oil leak from the rocker cover, have you tried renwing the gaskets, is both surfaces both clean and flush?

i had a cam cover gasket powdercoated and it had some slight high points on the edges which didnt allow it to seal correctly, when the oil was up to temp and if the car was being used in anger then it had a tendancy to weep in a couple of places, i gave up in the end and had it blasted and started again with masking it off better.

also (carrying on from kelvs), when you fit the new half moon seals and rocker cover seals, put a dab of sealer over each end of the half moon seal just so it completely seals that helps

Tbh sounds like your engine is tired and breathing heavily with the problems you have put up.

Unless something isnt flat on the head which is causing the oil to get past, then i cannot see what else is wrong? Mine breathes for the exhaust side, inlet side and has a return to the sump and i dont have any problems and thats on a T4. Thats been used around track aswell and never had a problem.

Im running a bailey breather tank (Mirror image) and Im pretty sure im breathing from both sides of the block and the cam cover.

If your having problems mate then get one of these kits IMO Mine seems to be fine @ 491bhp and around 2 bar boost. Hopefully this will be a link to the kit I got.

you do know you should never run a rocker breather on a ST !? cant remember the reason but i have read it before the block ones are fine on the ST

thanks for all your repleys i am breathing both sides of ther block and i'm returning below oil level, so it all good... my cam covers dont constantly leak it seems they last 3-4 months ish then go... im just fed up with drips on the floor... my old saph was the same...

the thing is, i think if it seals straight away then surely its right... thats why i'm thinking it must be presure related... i even put sealer under the front cam caps and everything..

i just want a permenat cure!! can you over breath an engine?

my friend is a ali metal fabricator and he said he could knock me up a custom breather with 4 breather ports and a return to sump and a atmosphere port... and make it look like a baileys just a tad bigger...

didnt the old rs500 touring cars have breathers in the cam cover?

i wont ever breath from top of cam cover again as it just causedme more problems when going on full boost as it created a vacum and sucked the oil out my head and spat it into my catch tank
This is EXACTLY why you shouldn't breath from the cam cover - TOP advice .

                            Dom, DON'T DO IT!

WRC style, or take your cover off and have it checked to see if it is true. They can warp from the heat, so if this is the case, it will be the reason for the leak.

Also check where the leak is coming from to be sure you are curing a problem that is actually there (it could be leaking from a cam / pulley seal)?
