    Are we getting old? I am younger, but when i grew. Up the mk1-2 escort was still a "nothing spesial" normal car that was not become a classic yet

      Legend of a car. Everyone loves an old Ford. Just don't search for 50 year old escorts in Google. It won't end well!

            Gettiñg.........,mmnup, to late for that.

            I don't think they were ever a 'normal' car.

            MK1 BDA OR RS2000 around 160hp per ton.
            EsCos around 164hp per ton from the factory.

            That on a set of crossplies of the day was always loose and fun.

              Yes sure like bda was special and rs and Mexico, but wasent wirth much... I looked at rs2k and mk1 Mexico when i was 18 and few years forward, and both could be had here for 1k (complete needed some work)... Now its a completly diffrent story...

                    AXA413N.jpg In 1974 I built a Mk1 Escort TC from a bare shell (actually a front half of one crashed mex and the rear half of another) - full custom pack road car, genuine 6" minilites. Enough brand new parts to have it registered as a new car, AXA 413 N - those were the days! Diamond white, black interior. Built in a shed with a £9 socket set, no electricity, and the only running water was what came through the holes in the roof. I miss it still.
