Got to be honest, I don't really rely on them for light output, if I need to see this happens.
(though I have driven in the dark and don't recall them being bad).
Don't want to be a killjoy but, because headlight reflectors are optimized for the light source (filament) to be in a specific relative position and orientation, retrofit LED, and HID, bulbs will never perform as well as the original halogen bulb. They may be brighter to look AT, but they won't be better to see WITH.
I actually have the H4 I think it is single filament in my van and they are way brighter than the standard halogens, and way brighter than the nihtbrraker halogens, just not sure on the twin element lamps though so wondered if any what make anyone could recommend
