  • General Question - Quick shift conversion, any good..? Anyone Selling One..?

Hi, has anyone used the quick shift conversion on their existing cradle, thinking of the upgrade while mine is out but no point if it’s no good any experience..?

I have, makes the shift a fare bit stiffer and quicker.
I rebushed the cradle at the same time so can't really say how much it improves by its self. Its quite a fiddly job best to have access to a ramp.
I damaged the rubber bushe under the gear nob and replaced with a 3D printed one, it clicks when changing up gear but not down

Rather use alloy cradle bushes. You’ll notice the difference with no fear of braking something.

Use the R&B one as some make the throw too short I believe.
I have one fitted and makes the throw much better

Cheers, yes replacing the cradle bushes with alloy versions, you think they will be enough..?

Thanks Dan, you recommend this one? Rather get one that's proven to work....

I've had mine for many years when Castle Performance was still going. A good conversion

I've had one in my car for about 25 years. Came from a Ford RS dealer somewhere in England (Bristol??) who specialised in performance parts, and I seem to remember they were the purveyors of the original quickshift for the Escos. It's a whole gearstick though. I've been racking my aged brain to try to recall what the dealership was called, but no recollection, and it's driving me nuts trying to remember!! Any ideas?

I thought about Brooklyn, Nick, but then thought, no, not them, though with my aging memory..... LOL.. Anyone remember who was the RS dealer who sponsored Nigel Rockey in the 70s? Might have been them.
