Belive it or not i have had that sticker for for about 25 years, before the COSSY i had it on the dash, between the air vents in my MK1 escort RS2000 when i lived in south wales.

so if i bust the bit thats left on the gearstick, when i try and get it off. does this part then come with the new gear knob when i buy a new one?

Yes, it's actually the internal part of the gearknob mate. I think if you give it a really good pull it'll just come off though. Mine did.

So the pics above are from a push or screw fit? I'd like to know as mine is the same as that and I've been wanting a new gear knob for ages.......

mine just pulled off but when i did it the softer part just the knob came off. will try tomorow and get the other bit off a swell.
