  • not sure what to do

i have a predictament someone is asking if i will sell the escos.(which is a compliment)
and i have said if the money is right then everything is for sale but i dont know what to do. i could out it,buy a porsche,or similar but dont know if i will be happy
i couldnt have another escos due to it not being mine. so would have to be different. maybe a 500 but they are too much at the mo.
doing my head in now and im all confused as i would miss the shows etc, which i wouldnt get with a porker or a ferrari etc

unless i buy a nice old 911 and a cheapo saff

    i dont know.

maybe its because i havent got what i wanted from the escy yet?

thats tough one Neill, hard to give you advice as your into porkers and im not, it all depends really on what you want from a car and all that goes with it shows, forums etc etc.. if someone waved a fist full of cash at me for my car where i couldnt say no to the offer id buy a 500 straight away, if i didnt want another escos, would a porker put as big a smile on your face as the escos does ??

Its a real hard one that Neil, im no real help matey as only you know what you want dude, as for me there is nothing else i would fancy to take the Escos's place at the min unless a lottery win and had Ferrari, GT3, Lambo ect money. i will get some picks e mailed off my mate of his Porker, not sure what model and motor it is ect but it is propper stunning mate, looks like the one in your link mate, he took it to the Berwick show this year and i was very supprised there was no picks of it, as loads of people were looking and taking snapps.

Its a very dark blue with cream leather Neil, the thing sounds like a jet fighter when he sets it away, very nice looking indeed with a lot or road presance, when he bought it, it had carbon fibre racing seats in and they were signed by vicky butler henderson when it was mag featured, the racing seats were not his cup of tea so bought some original porker seats and had them re trimmed to match rears, they are really gorgeous seats, never driven it mate as it never moves out the garage!

Sell it and buy one that works!

Its alright buying a prancing horse or a porker, but I'd like to bet that If something 'WAS' to go wrong with either, I'd expect the bills to dwarf what a cossie would cost to put right.

At the end of the day, only you can make the decision.

                  BUT........

Neither of them cars you've posted up would make me part with my escort!

Alright Neil, If somebody offered the right money then i would probably sell especially if they offered more than you got it for last year. Just out of interest what are you trying to achive/do with your car? if you dont mind me asking. pm if you dont want to post it up.
Only problem with a porker is they will still drop in value, ferrari will have the same problem but less so. The RS's are now reasonably stable on the value front and i would expect them to go up slightly again when the new Focus comes out next year.

Just to echo what Franco said, it's all very well purchasing the vehicle, whether it be a Porsche or a Ferrari, but the maintenance of them is another story. I'd say you need a few grand spare after tax, MOT, insurance and petrol to cover off any little oil leak or problems.

I like the Porsches myself, and was seriously considering selling my Cosworth for a new Boxster. I just fancied somthing newer, but after serious thought it was obvious that it wouldn't put the same smile on my face. For me it didn't have the same character as the Escort.

I'll probably get one eventually when the time is right, but for now I'm more than happy pottering around in my 12 year old Ford.

                        Hope this helps

                        Good Luck

that porker is stunning mate, but i think the expenses of running one is just nuts. I looked into it and unless you have dead pockets then I would keep the cossie, or sell yours and buy another and make soem money on it? but its your pride and joy so I would keep it mate

The Escort Cosworth is becoming much more exclusive than any Porsche or Ferrari and have a much nicer depreciation.

Its a hard decision but I would definitely go for an Escos over a Porsche (in fact I did!) and I would never own a Ferrari simply due to the amount of times i've heard the word 'Cock' as one drives past

                              Hmmmm,

It is tough one Neil - and I can understand the predicament. Personally I like Porsches, but cant imagine having one. Ferrari is a whole different thing though to me. If I could afford to I would have a 355 in a shot!

Either way, your Escos is a truely stunning car and as everyone has said - I dont think you will find another car that will hold its value in the same way.

I think you should keep it mate.
