as said above, when the money comes in and you get the new car,you will be happy you are on the road again etc...

get it stripped and get rid of the parts asap and get the new car sorted.

        Dave.

I can imagine it is quite hard considering the work you have put into it.

You will enjoy the FRS it is quite a car considering it is a standard car from Ford. Plus if you keep the shell you are still a owner.

Can always build a stage 3 for trackdays & weekends when you get the funds later on.

              hmmm,is it just me or....

instead of finishing a mega(over) specced escos, you break it and "invest" in a great new Ford that has already lost nearly 10k in its value and isn't worth as much
if it was broken?...let alone if you could sell it!
Maybe if the car was specced to a fast road (sensible)spec, there wouldn't be the urge to break it for something you think may be better.... just like dave (yum)...he came back, and i reckon in hindsight he would have kept yum at a more sensible, pound for pound more useable spec.....so i don't see how you can be sad?....no one is forcing you to break it,i think you think a new FRS is better....they are nice cars, but do they have the longivity(sp),prestige like an escos in appeal and residual value??..i reckon not......but its your car and your money.....i just can't see an esc cos value plumiting like a FRS

it seems people on here get a bug to spend way to much money on theres escos but as they spend the money, it makes them love the car less and less as it takes control of there lives to save for it... which in turn makes them want rid...

this is why i have gone the 2wd route as a 2wd 400+bhp cosworth will out run 99% of cars on the road... which keeps the cosworth name still a threat to any driver of a modern sports car... which is always why i wanted a cosworth... remembering my dad saying to me they were a different league to over cars and i was around 13years old..

but geting back to my point my car owes me 20k and i reacon either selling it or breaking it would see me 16k... so i'm happy to write the 4k difference off as the expense of my hobby over the last 2 years.. but this is my limit i will go too... i honestly dont think i would gain any more fun throwing another 10k at it just more stress and negative eqaity.. but thats me, its easy to want all the best parts..

kelv i reacon mate, whack a stage 3 engine in with 390bhp, 2wd it with koni/ahmed suspension on a standard beam and drive like you stole it, trouble free motoring, sell your other bits pocket the extra money.. this cheap spec will leave a focus rs for dead!

i think people have really missunderstood the reason for taking the car apart, i have other requirements from my life now and one car sat in the garage to do trackdays once a month is something im not prepared to outlay on anymore, and i dont have the disposable income like i used to when the project started.

i certainly wont be buying a FRS expecting it to be quicker than an Escos, i will be buying one to be a nice fun daily vehicle, one that i can still do the odd random trackday in but still drive to Tesco if need be.
being in an escos for me will always have me craving more power, to go further as thats the way my car is, one thats shouting out to be abused and used to the last inch of its life.

we are also looking at something as a big 4x4 to cater for other things in life, plus dogs etc.

Robski, i know nobody has made me do this, but even after all the months of 'shall i' and 'shant i', it still gives a mixed feeling inside you when you initially start to dismantle it, it really has come to an end when its got to that stage.

for those that may have read some of my other posts ive made over the later few days, the shell has gained no real interest and myself and Macman have been looking into a new unit to use for our cars and possibly storing of other items.
the Escos is going to be tucked at the back under a cover and forgotten about for a good year.
if someone pops up in that time and buys the complete shell then so be it, but if not then ill look for a tatty 2wd saph as a donor and maybe use it for a cheap budget track toy with maybe 380bhp and RWD, whlst having already catered for our personal life and still being more comfortable with the things around me.

id say it is Kelv as i can imagine all the blood/sweat/tears that went into building it over the years and the memories you might have of the car, if you think its the right thing to do plough on with it m8.
