    CAM COVER

    Hi,

I need to refurb a cam cover for my Escort Cosworth in blue colour RAL 5002. Are you able to give me some advice? Or can you do it? I would be grateful for any information because I cannot find anyone doing this. Please let me know on my email address borax@email.cz

    Best regards,

    Petr

Hello, i got these powercoated at a local powder coaters in N.Ireland then took them to a machine shop to get the top face milled.

If i remember correctly they only charged £20-30 to blast and powdercoat and £25 to machine them.

Im not sure what exact colour the blue was, just one i picked from a chart.

I painted mine with high heat black wrinkle paint then Monster Dave machined the top - different and looks very tidy

I need to get mine done too. Is the top polished up first & then lacqured or mask up the top & lacquer around it ? My painter isn't too keen on using polish in the paint shop. Last paint job juast all flaked off, Don't want the same happening again.

Normally the whole rocker cover is stripped and everything on the outside obv is painted.

Then people with get the top face milled or you can sand it off and get a nice finish using very fine sandpaper.

The ones above i posted were sandblasted, powder coated and then milled and thats the way they have been left.

Cheers David. Maybe because it was lacqured so the last time is why it peeled off.
