doesnt always help i bought mine as harvey built it and i trusted the so called mate it came from.
not harveys fault in the slightest but it was not the 450bhp i paid for!
3 years and thousands later i have the car back together again.just waking the snow to clear for mot and tax

        Craig,

Thanks for your VERY Honest response, made me laugh!

We all need our vices and its better than the illegal ones, and all of your cars are an inspiration to alot of people.

I hope to join that crowd!!

How can you be sure its been modded properly other than finding who did it and speaking to them? I guess there isnt another way.

Interesting point about the rolling shell, thats a long road though and you cant drive it in the meantime. I guess you can sit in it in the garage!!

Chriss my best advice i can give you is ask Mark barber (if he has time?) to check cars with you then you will know your getting a good one for your money

I've spend 3.5K on mine in the last 2 years and haven't done any tuning. Just maintaining the car and some bufty upgrades

                          Chris

I think it also depends what you want to get out of it. If you just want to own a modified escos, then deffo buy one that's already been (well) done - it will be quite a lot cheaper. However for me, I enjoy tinkering with the car - I do quite a lot of the stuff myself and because it's a second car I can take my time. That's why I bought one that was standard. Yes in the long run it will cost me quite a bit more, but it's my hobby and I'll enjoy it as such.

craig H, you are deeply deeply insane to be thinking of selling so soon

I would say with cossies spend wisely and youll spend once. Buy with your heart and dont check it out and youll easily double or even triple the money you saved in bodge repairs.

                            Medically Discharged!! Officially insane!!!

I have my eye on a fairley standard small turbo car just had some new hoses and a new exhaust, cost about 10k

I would be happy with low 300 bhp and sorted brakes to start with Whats that likeley to cost me.

The way I see it they will be awsome cars so I think I will enjoy it with the standard set up and then tinker when you want a lil bit more?

power can be addictive though Plenty on here and pF who said they would keep it standard or lightly tuned and ended up spending tens of thousands on crazy power.
