Would high previous owners bother you!!

Looking at a few cars over the next week or two but i keep getting put off by cars with a high volume of owners, does it really matter

Found a few with 2 or 3 owners but others with 10 or 11 owners that look just as nice and well looked after

how would it effect value?

only ever had one high owner car which turned out to be a pig so think thats putting me off!

I don't even look at owners to be honest. If the car is what your after does it really matter how many people have drove it?

Yeah your right, it could have two owners that treated it like shit, i suppose also it s the kind of car that does change hands quickly when people get the shock of petrol and maintanance bills

Yeah as the other guys said should'nt matter as long as condition is good. If it an old car like the escort it is very possible to be lots of owners remember the youngest are now 15years old now.

I looked at lower owner cars too thinking the same thing. I'm the eighth owner of Black Beauty and it was by far the best one I saw.

As above, pay no attention to the owners. Persevere and the right car will appear...

Yeah i just cant get my head around being the 12th owner, just seems to be alot of chances it had at least one dodgey owner who may have tinkered with the clocks lol

I've found one nice one on 52000 miles with 11 previous owners, so thats less 5k each, just doesnt seem right.

But its a car i plan on keeping anyway so maybe i shouldnt let it bother me.

thats funny, i was under the impression you dont look at the car either .....
my car has 8 previous owners, the last owner had to sell it because he lost his job, these cars are a luxury really and somethings like losing your job or starting a family or buying a house can be the reason for them going back up for sale, not because they are a total money pit ..... although its not unheard of, although since hearing that and using the same garage i might be inclined to point the finger at the garage for some of that!!

When you think these cars are now up to 18yrs old having 10 owners isn't really horrific, and most are used as second cars so 5k over 2 years ownership is about right. I would rather have a car that has had a number of owners but lots of history rather than 1 or 2 owners and little to no history.

some people call it swings and roundabouts,lots of owners means lots of use then theres possible missuse and also lots of money spent too.

i prefer a low miler and low owner car but they need to have that genuine ford history bookj or i don't and won't beleive a story teller saying its low miles when its got 13 former keepers up it.

its a near cert that a 1 owner or 1 former keeper should be a proper car and its a cert that a 15 owner will have a story to tell or two

No i don't think you should be really bothered about it.If the car is good and the one you want GO FOR IT!!!!!!!

mine has got 10 owners

i went to look at a cossie in durham (I live near gatwick )

2 owner car with 60,000 miles ,8 hour drive with road works

only reason i went to see it was cause of owners/milage.

was told it mint ,great runner and worth a look , turned out it hadnt been run for a few months ,didnt start and was sat in a leaking garage that was dripping all over the car with a puddle covering the floor
drove all that way and it didnt even run

it wasnt that clean either .

i wouldnt be put off by a car with lots of owners

its a tricky one for people as finding the right car wot you want isnt alwas easy especially with these escorts, i looked for over a year for mine so dont just rush out and buy 1 for the sake of it- hold out and the right one will come along fella.
