No, it was just the standard Escort Cosworth one that everyone removes, fitted to the Sapphire....

It also had the RS500 splitter and was completely stable at speed .

Have you had the ESCOS at great speed though, although your not into topspeed anymore as stated.

As you have owned 2x heavly modified cosworths, which would you say is more stable at speed?

The fastest I have had my Escort is 175mph. The fastest I have had my Sapphire is 185mph.

They have both been completely stable, the only difference is that the Escort takes a lot longer to get to speeds above 130mph due to the extra down force the aero pack generates.

Mike i disagree about not knowing anything....i think i am very shrewd by buying a car that does 200 out the box with no mods (well 208+ now with mods),can do it for miles,no need to take anything off..as its designed to do it...wont pull it at brunters though maybe 180mph with 600bhp not sure but as i am stating its like "operation certain death" imo trying to do a certain speed at a certain distance should be done on a far longer track to allow for mr cock up...top speed is one thing but rod is trying to cheat death too.

I could stick a 500bhp engine in the kaliber and pull 180mph down brunters straight off,due to the fact my car has the full RS500 touring car bodykit...so was designed for it without mods.

A saff you really do need to fettle with,as with the escos...where have i said otherwise?

Why are you giving ME 's, when Bruce's had NOS and a close ratio 6-speed dog box on it to achieve 191mph .

I "think" Kev's run was done with normal 3dr aero appendages .

Kevs was std everything by all accounts bar engine...so yes my kaliber could turn up with 500bhp no mods 180mph at brunters...but as said its a suicide mission not choosing a longer venue and putting a marker at the mile mark,surely even a hom like you Mike can see that...Its like you want hero status for the top speed then a hero status for having big balls thru trying to stop your car before certain death occurs

Phil you nonce, which part of the following do you not understand:
1. RS500 areo has more down force, but at the expense of extra drag than standard 3dr.
2. Given the above, 500bhp won't cut it, unless subject to favourable weather conditions (tail wind ).

ELE (RS500 aero) went with 500bhp and only got 178mph .

Again, you're making assumptions that you have no knowledge of .
