The better way to have a lot of torque

Hi guys,
I want know the better way to have an engine with a lot of torque (over 600nm)...

600nm is only 443 ft/lb so very achieveable without the need for WRC engine lol
But where do you want the torque? Do you want just a big spike or a broad spead across as much power band as possible?
I well built engine will usually have a torque figure close to it's max bhp figure so really you just need to build a 450bhp engine or 500bhp to be on the safe side.

Any more than that on a standard block becomes unreliable, as you should very well know .

Obviously you can have more if you don't mind treating the block as a consumable .

IMO 500lbft is as far as I would want to go with 4wd. You can go a bit more with 2wd, as the lack of traction will dissipate the torque reaction into twisting the block.

It's not always about being the most - come back and brag when your engine has held together for years, not months (doing 7-8 track days a year) .

It would prob be 580 on the rollers through so not all that damp

My engines at 560lbs of torque with 613bhp at mo with more to comevwith the right parts most eninges will make good torque

The engines can make the torque no problem - they just can't TAKE that amount of torque for any kind of sustained use, as the crank flexes and cracks the block . Ask Mark to show you pictures of Rods old block .

It's perfectly okay for show cars though, as they are rarely used properly .

I would be wary of going for any more torque than you already have if you intend on using the car on track.
