It would be interesting to see yours on a Rr to be able to compare to your dyno. On the Rr we use its very close normaly within a few %. But it does depend on who and how they run it.

Good luck with it - I really am looking forward to seeing Rod's car actually running again after all this time . Would be good to see his top speed figure raised yet again .

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

That's if we can keep it together for long enough. At this level you can only call it a hand grenade engine if we are running at 1000hp. 800hp seems to last well.

            Hi Mark.
Well, I have a SmallTurbo Escort with stock engine.
I will use, to tune my engine, the original cranckshaft,
new H-section rods, new 8,5:1 cr pistons with valve cuts,
            new cams and machined head.
For engine management, I bought in 2011 this ECU:
            http://www.microtec.cc/cms/en/downlo...rouchure-M172/.
I hope this is the good to have a good engine.

Did a track day on Sunday and the transmission started making a funny noise......

Turned out that the front diff CWP was the part that finally gave up the ghost. A bit of a wounder, as it is an uprated 7" R&D item (up from the standard weedy 6½ one). Oh well, that is the problem with having 505lb ft of torque . It's done well to last 5 years with the abuse it gets .

And this is NEVER EVER launched - you lot with more, obviously aren't trying hard enough .

                  Mike,

Its lasted very well then and cheaper to sort than an FFD etc

                      Then,
I have ergal cams pulley, front Quaife diff. in Quaife case
and rebuild (stronger and short gear) gearbox.

I've already broke the original CWP on a Quaife diff before I got the R&D LOL.

I would reiterate that I am VERY transmission friendly as well (my clutches usually last 15k), having NEVER launched the car even back then.

                          So,
the Quaife diff is not good for high torque?

What sort of speed is Rod going for now? Good to see a cossie hitting the 200 mph

The diff is fine - it is the CWPs that break....
