  • Help!!!!! 2wd rear trailing arm bushes

Ok so I'm having the rear beam powder coated etc.

Got to take the bushes out before they can be coated but I'm not sure if I can get away with using poly bushes?

I've seen ggr do replacements but if you think I'm paying £90 each for them, your very much mistaken

    Help please

Will drastically affect the handling so that you will HATE the car (it will allow the beam to move around and steer the car as the poly bushes compress). Basically the OE / GGR ones are rose-jointed style bushes (the rubber you see is just to protect them from dirt ingress, which is the bain of all rose joints). If your existing ones are not worn and you don't want to replace them with new ones, then you have no choice but to press out your old ones and then refit them once the powder-coating has been done (as the high temps involved in the powder coating will destroy the rubber protection).

They haven't been available for years, that's why GGR had them made to oe spec

                  Powerflex it is then

Think I'll get the black ones as they are supposed to be stiffer.

Refuse to pay £360 for bushes, cosworth tax at its finest

If youre fitting powerflex bushes, you might as well upgrade your tyres to Nankang and fit some Jamex springs just to make sure you ruin the handling

Try source your own bushes, if you are not happy to pay GGR prices then you may help everyone out
