For those removing it, I bet it was a right royal pain in the arse!

Very nasty as if you try to just get it off with a grinder and a wire wheel it just moves it about so you have to scrape it off with a scraper or blunt chisel and then go over it with a grinder and wire wheel to clean it up nice.
I must admit it is painfully slow and hard work but worth it in the end
